The Adamson University Lady Falcons were dealt a straight-sets beating by the red-hot National University Lady Bulldogs, 16-25, 14-25, 18-25, in the second round of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament at the PhilSports Arena last Saturday.

No Lady Falcon scored in double digits. Ayesha Juegos only posted eight points from six attacks and two aces, while Red Bascon and Ishie Lalongisip had six markers apiece.

Barbie Jamili and Mayang Nuique also struggled to find their rhythm, only converting four points each in the losing effort.

On the flip side, NU’s lethal scoring duo of Bella Bellen and Alyssa Solomon dominated with 14 points each. Vange Alinsug added nine points, while Sheena Toring chipped in eight markers.

This is the second time the Lady Falcons have lost to the Lady Bulldogs, experiencing the same outcome as their first-round match.

The Lady Falcons have fallen to a 3-10 record and will aim to end the season with a victory as they take on the Blue Eagles, who stunned them in four sets during the first round.

Adamson and Ateneo will have an aerial showdown on April 24, Wednesday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at 4 p.m.
