Nxled did not go down without a fight.

The Nxled Chameleons stood tall in a four-set defeat against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-22, 31-29, 23-25, 26-28, in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena, Thursday.

In the first set, the Chameleons played like a well-oiled machine as they established a 19-12 lead. However, the Crossovers countered with a 7-0 run to tie the set before the former regained their composure and secured the win.

Nxled continued to be in control in the second set with a 22-17 advantage, but Chery Tiggo never let up and forced a wild ending to the set with the Crossovers outlasting the Chameleons to tie the match at one set apiece.

The same story happened in the third frame as Nxled once again building a six-point lead before collapsing late to surrender the set to Chery Tiggo.

In the fourth canto, the Crossovers smelled blood from their prey as they looked to put the game away for good. The Chameleons had other ideas, though, clawing their way back from five points down to set up another crazy finish in the fourth. Unfortunately, Nxled ran out of gas as Jasmine Nabur scored the last two points for Chery Tiggo to seal the victory.

Nxled main gunner Lycha Ebon posted 18 points and 10 excellent digs. Moreover, Jho Maraguinot and Cams Victoria scored 15 points apiece, while Krich Macaslang added 10 markers.

On the other hand, Eya Laure led the way for Chery Tiggo with 23 points in 20 attacks and three blocks. To add, Mylene Paat and Cess Robles chipped in 16 points apiece, while Pauline Gaston had 12.

The Chameleons dropped to a 1-5 record and will next go head-to-head with sister team Akari Chargers on Tuesday, 6pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
