The Adamson University (AdU) Lady Falcons found the National University (NU) Bulldogs too much to handle as they lost in three sets, 13-25, 24-26, 20-25, in the semi-finals of the Shakey’s Super League Pre-season Championship at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Sunday.

After receiving a drubbing in the first set, Adamson’s second stringers looked to turn the tide and level the match in the second frame. However, NU’s starters clawed their way back to steal the set for a commanding 2-0 advantage.

In the third canto, the Lady Bulldogs never looked back and pounded on the Lady Falcons to book a ticket to the best-of-three finals.

The San Marcelino-based squad, on the flip side, will face the loser of the UST-FEU match for the bronze medal.

No Lady Falcon barged into double figures in scoring as off-the-bench contributors Jen Villegas, Ayesha Juegos, and Barbie Jamili led the scoring with only seven points apiece.

On the other hand, Erin Pangilinan spearheaded the attack with 11 points. Alyssa Solomon added 10, while Bella Belen chipped in nine markers for NU who are still undefeated in the tournament.

The best-of-three bronze medal match will start on November 10, 2pm at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
