Coach Jorge looking for consistency from Chargers as they face F2 Logistics

After a flat start to their campaign, Coach Jorge de Brito is looking for one thing from the Akari Chargers moving forward: consistency.

Some constant play would definitely be welcome after the Chargers blew hot and cold in a 15-25, 20-25, 20-25 defeat to a vengeful Choco Mucho squad last Saturday.

Save for a slow opening set, the Chargers battled the Titans toe to toe in the second and third frames behind hot hands from Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Janine Marciano.

After taking leads until the middle of the set, the Chargers would run out of gas and fall into a maze of errors and inconsistency as Choco Mucho took control.

For De Brito, Akari cannot afford another up-and-down performance, especially against a powerhouse team like the Cargo Movers.

“We need to have more consistency in our plays, on offense and on defense,” he said.

F2 Logistics is coming off a hard-earned five-set win over PLDT, with new acquisition Myla Pablo exploding for 21 points and Kianna Dy adding 17 markers.

Adding to the threat from the girls in yellow are Aby Marano, Ivy Lacsina and the returning Cha Cruz-Behag, giving the Brazilian mentor more puzzles to solve.

“We need to play much better than before in all ways, in all skills,” De Brito added. “We need to serve better and in order to use our middles, we need to improve our reception. It’s quite simple but it’s not easy.”

Aside from Santiago-Manabat, who finished with 17 big points, the rest of the Chargers need to step up big and deliver De Brito what he’s been looking for.
