Mich Cobb dazzles with ball distribution in Akari win

Akari might have in its disposal the most powerful import in the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference, but Mich Cobb is making an effort not to make it a one-woman show.

And through her decision-making, she was able to even unlock Prisilla Rivera’s attacking prowess even more.

Cobb had 20 excellent sets in the Chargers’ victory over UAI-Army and it was because of her amazing ball distribution that the ladies in magenta held off the more experienced Lady Troopers.

“May porysento si Ate Pri, pero for me, parang kailangan mong paganahin lahat,” she told Akari Sports. “So I really worked on the ball distribution like making the middles work, making the local players work. If gagana lahat, mas madaling makapuntos.”

True enough, Cobb went to the likes of Ezra Madrigal, Erika Raagas and Janine Marciano throughout the match and the trio combined for 26 points.

The team captain from La Salle said giving balls to her non-Rivera teammates opened the floodgates for the Dominican Republic reinforecement.

“If napagana ko na sila from the start then malilibre si ate Pri in the latter part kasi all of them are manned na e,” Cobb said.

With defenders guessing where the ball would be given, Rivera had a feast day and bombarded Army with 25 kills on an astounding 52.8% spiking accuracy.

Nice move, Mich.
