The Nxled Chameleons suffered their third defeat at the hands of the Farm Fresh Foxies in three sets, 16-25, 15-25, 17-25, in Pool A of the PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena last Saturday.
Chiara Permentilla was the only Chameleon who barged double digits, with 12 points and 12 excellent receptions, during the 1-hour and 19-minute match.
Falling behind by two sets, Nxled got its act together midway through the third set with American import Meegan Hart converting an ace to tie the set at 12-all. However, Farm Fresh had other plans as Trisha Tubo nailed an off-the-block hit to establish a comfortable 19-14 lead. Colombian Yeny Murillo sealed the victory for the Foxies with a cross-court hit.
The Chameleons had failed to recover from a slow start in the first two sets before gaining momentum in the third set. Unfortunately, it was a little too late for them as the Foxies tightened their grip on their second win.
Murillo led Farm Fresh with 22 points and four excellent digs, while Trisha Tubu contributed 16 points.
Nxled dropped to a 1-3 record and aims to finish strong in Pool A as it faces the Creamline Cool Smashers on Thursday, August 8, at the same venue in Pasig City.
