CAPTAIN LOUIE ROMERO COMMITS TO ONE MORE YEAR WITH ADAMSON: ‘WALANG IWANAN’

Adamson community, rejoice! Women’s volleyball team captain Louie Romero commits to one more year with the Lady Falcons.

Even before the Finals series between La Salle and NU, Romero has already informed Adamson and asked for the blessing of the Akari management of her intent to return for one more tour of duty in the collegiate ranks.

“Hindi pwede pag-isipan ng matagal kasi paano kung mag pro na ako? Edi nagsayang ako ng oras ng coaches ko na sana nagamit nila to work with teammates ko na setters,” Romero told Akari Sports matter-of-factly.

“Isang malaki at malakas na yes, iisa pa ako. Hash tag walang iwanan kami ng buong team,” she added.

Under her leadership as skipper, the Lady Falcons made it back to the Final Four after missing the semis bus for nine years.

Through her masterful plays, Romero has turned all attackers of Adamson into viable scoring options, leading them to a 10-4 win-loss record and the bronze in Season 85.

“Ang pangako ko kasi sa Adamson at sa mga sumusuporta sa amin, hangga’t may chance ako na makapagbigay sa kanila ng championship, hindi ako aalis. Tinutupad ko lang kasi sila tinupad din nila ang pangako nila na palagi lang silang naka-suporta sa team,” shared Romero.

Romero ended the Season 85 eliminations round atop the tally of most excellent sets with more than five per frame.

With her decision to stay, Adamson will have an intact core with the likes of Lucille Almonte, Kate Santiago, Trisha Tubu, Lorene Toring, and Rizza Cruz.

She will also join the Lady Falcons in welcoming their new recruits for the university’s high school team in UAAP Season 86 Girls’ Volley best libero Juris Manuel, Jao Cuenca, Red Bascon, and Eloi Aljibe.

“Alam ko matagal pa ang season but the work starts now,” Romero said looking more determined than ever.

“Training, off-season tournaments, kilalanin pa lalo ang isa’t isa. It’s hard work pero para sa goal namin, naniniwala ako na kaya,” she closed.
