ADAMSON made quick work of University of Santo Tomas, 25-23, 25-17, 25-17, to clinch a semifinals berth in the V-League Collegiate Challenge on Sunday night at the Gameville Central Park in Mandaluyong City.
The Lady Falcons needed just an hour and 28 minutes to subdue the Tigresses and claim a piece of the top spot at 5-1.
It was a big bounce-back win by Adamson after its four-match undefeated run came to an end by Arellano University last Sept. 12.
“We were eager talaga, especially yung mga bata, because of that loss (to the Lady Chiefs). Siyempre, kung ano yung babaunin namin sa next games. I’m very happy and grateful on how my players responded properly sa training and sa game today,” said Lady Falcons coach JP Yude.
Joy Aseo starred for Adamson with 19 points after coming off the bench in the opening set, scoring 16 kills and three blocks, that went along with six receptions.
Third Tuddao and Nigerian Frances Mordi added 12 and 10 points, respectively, while Fhei Sagaysay tossed in 14 excellent sets.
San Beda kept its semifinals hopes alive and pinned Arellano its first loss of the tournament with a 25-20, 25-11, 20-25, 25-23 victory.
The Lady Falcons will wrap up their preliminary round assignments against the Lady Red Spikers on Sunday.
