ADAMSON advanced to the Final Four after a three-year absence with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-23 win over Far Eastern University Saturday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the packed UST Quadricentennial Pavilion Arena.

Shai Nitura was scintillating with 18 points, including four service aces and two blocks, 10 receptions, and six digs to lead the Lady Falcons to a straight-set romp.

“I’m really happy and blessed sa mga players ko ngayon on how they performed, they always respond to the situation nang maayos. Up and down ang laro pero until the end, hindi kami bumitaw, nagrespond kami nang maayos,” said coach JP Yude after Adamson closed out the elims at 9-5.

“Sabi nga, si Lord after three days He rose again, kami after three years, we rose again.”
Nitura, who starred in the San Marcelino-based squad’s historic high school girls title run in Season 86, was elated to see the Lady Falcons return to the Final Four.

“Very grateful ako kung paano nagrespond yung team, ‘yun nga kahapon pa lang sinusubok na kami, pinaparamdam sa amin ‘yung hirap na haharapin namin ngayon. Ang niremind lang talaga sa amin ng coaches na kahit gaano kapangit ang laruin namin, basta we find a way out para ang outcome ay panalo,” said Nitura, who heard MVP chants during the match.

Nigerian outside hitter Frances Mordi contributed 12 points, eight digs, and six receptions, while Third Tuddao was also key with 10 points on six attacks and four blocks. Fhei Sagaysay orchestrated the offense well with 19 excellent sets.
