Tripple B shocked the Akari Baby Chargers, 47-39, in the Akari U16 Girls’ Basketball Invitational at the 3rd Fitness Lab on Thursday.
Top scorer Tyler Templo powered Tripple B with 23 points, 10 rebounds, six steals, and four assists. Team captain Kairi Ebao added 12 points, six rebounds, and four steals in their bounce-back win.
After a tightly contested first half, Tripple B found separation in the second behind the efforts of Templo and Ebao.
The blue shirts carried that momentum into the fourth quarter, unleashing an 11-4 run capped by an Ebao triple.
The Baby Chargers managed to cut the deficit to single digits, but Tripple B held firm with stifling defense down the stretch.
Skipper Cara Tiu led Akari with 11 points, three assists, and three steals as the Baby Chargers absorbed their second straight loss following a 2-0 start.
