The Adamson University (AdU) Lady Falcons suffered a stunning three-set defeat at the hands of the reigning NCAA women’s volleyball champions, College of Saint Benilde (CSB) Lady Blazers, 25-13, 25-22, 25-19, in their last match in Pool D of the 2024 Shakey’s Super League Pre-season Championship at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Wednesday night.
With this loss, the Lady Falcons are virtually eliminated from contention. In contrast, the Lady Blazers only need to take care of business against the San Sebastian-Recoletos Lady Stags on Friday to secure their spot in the next round.
After exploding for a record-setting performance of 35 points against Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws last Saturday, Shaina Nitura was held to just seven points, followed by foreign reinforcement Frances Mordi, who chipped in six points in the 1 hour and 18-minute battle.
On the other hand, Rhea Densing spearheaded CSB’s attack with 12 points, while Mary Grace Borromeo added 10 points.
St. Benilde completed the Pool E cast that includes the De La Salle University Lady Spikers, National University Lady Bulldogs, and the University of the East Lady Warriors.
