American Oluoma Okaro loads up Akari for PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference

Oluoma Okaro is set to reinforce the Akari Chargers in the PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference this month.

The 28-year-old American previously played for the ASP Thetis Voulas in Greece’s A1 Ethniki Women’s Volleyball Championship last season. She also had a stint with the Hämeenlinna Volleyball Club in Finland after college.

Okaro played collegiate volleyball for the University of San Francisco in her first two years before transferring to Arizona State University.

In 2017, the Lakewood, California native was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team for beach volleyball and was included in the All-Pac-12 Team for indoor volleyball as a senior.

Aside from her volleyball achievements, Okaro excelled academically. She was named a 2015 West Coast Conference Honorable Mention and received All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Okaro will be another weapon for a retooled Akari squad that recently added Ivy Lacsina, Kamille Cal, Camille Victoria, and Dani Ravena to the fold. The 6’1 opposite spiker aims to help the Chargers get over the hump as they look to clinch a better finish since joining the PVL.
