The Adamson University Baby Falcons captured their first-ever juniors volleyball title, sweeping the Nazareth School of National University Lady Bullpups anew, 25-18, 25-18. 28-26, in Game 2 of the UAAP Season 86 girls’ volleyball finals at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan, Monday.

Opposite hitter Abegail Segui sealed the championship with an ace in the nerve-wracking third set.

The Baby Falcons did not want to let the trophy slip away from their hands after dominating the first two sets.

Team captain Shaina Nitura was named the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP). Prior to Game 2, the powerful open spiker was also awarded First Best Outside Hitter and Season MVP.

Graduating seniors Mary Ann Grace Del Moral and Felicity Sagaysay bagged the Second Best Middle Blocker and Best Setter awards, respectively.

Last season, Adamson fell short of their goal after yielding to the NSNU. This season, the Baby Falcons soared over the competition throughout the elimination rounds, advanced to the finals, then exacted revenge on the Lady Bullpups to take the elusive crown.
