One of the most delightful feelings in the world is when you can finally repay your family’s hardships and sacrifices. In this piece, Akari Sports had a quick chat with Akari Charger Trisha Genesis that will definitely inspire and melt the hearts of the readers.
There’s still more than a month to go before Christmas, but Santa Trisha came in early!
Trisha Genesis is a proven giver of thunderous spikes in the PVL, but did you know that she’s also a provider of blessings off the court?
In a conversation with the Adamson standout, Genesis talked about a recent investment she made using her hard-earned Akari salary. It was something that would last not only for herself, but also for her family — a two-storey house in Cabuyao, Laguna.
“Last December nag-start na po siya ipatayo, then by March nagawa na po agad kaya nagbabalak na po kaming mag-move in anytime, pinapaayos lang po lahat-lahat para maayos na po talaga pag tinirahan,” said the 23-year-old volleybelle.
When she turned pro last year, Genesis prioritized giving back to the people that have supported and brought out the best in her since the start of her volleyball career.
“Sila talaga yung nag-pupush at nag-momotivate sa akin to always do my best para in the end, I can see the results of my hard work,” said Genesis. “Yung bahay na pinagawa ko, I view it as an investment wherein mag-bebenefit yung whole family ko.”
However, the grateful 5-foot-7 outside spiker claimed that it wouldn’t be possible without the help of the Akari.
“Walang sawang pasasalamat po talaga. Itong na-achieve ko po ngayon kasama po ang Akari talaga. Imposible ko po ‘tong matupad kung ‘di nila ako kinuha at ‘di sila nagtiwala sakin. Kaya to the Akari management, especially to Sir Chris, maraming maraming salamat po!”
With the cost of living in the country getting harder to meet as time passes by, you must make smart decisions on your finances.
“I want to buy the newest phone model!”
“I want to travel the world!”
“I want this… I want that…”
There’s nothing wrong with spending your hard-earned money on the things you want (emphasis on *want*), but for Genesis, you must guarantee that you have enough to keep your head above water during the rainy days.
“Save for the future para ready ka sa kung ano mang uncertainties ang mae-encounter mo in the future.”
And to those athletes contemplating on whether to invest or not, here’s her advice:
“To other players who are considering to make an investment, go push niyo na. It’s best to start early, para may naipupundar kayo while also enjoying yung paglalaro niyo ng sports.”
Genesis might appear as a happy-go-lucky person online, in games, or in practices, but when it comes to serious matters, she’s an athlete you can look up to.
