Saksakan ng Galing: Rivera the lone bright spot in gloomy loss

STA ROSA — In what was an otherwise gloomy afternoon for Akari, it was Prisilla Rivera who provided the lone bright spot.

Rivera scored more than half of the Chargers’ non-opponent errors points in the team’s disappointing 13-25, 14-25, 20-25 defeat to Petro Gazz Saturday at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex here.

The import from Dominican Republic had 17 of Akari’s 29 spikes and two of the squad’s four kill blocks as she found little support from her teammates in the faze of an onslaught by the defending champions.

No local Charger scored more than five points as the team struggled in all aspects in what was their lowest performance of the season by far.
