Olympics veteran Prisilla Rivera joins Akari Chargers

Boosting their firepower ahead of their professional debut, the Akari Power Chargers has tapped the services of veteran internationalist Prisilla Rivera to backstop the team in the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference this October.

A three-time Olympian and long-time team captain of world power Dominican Republic, Rivera brings not just her power, but also her wealth of experience playing overseas.

This will come in handy for the Chargers, who will be the youngest and newest team participating in the PVL.

The 6-foot-1 Rivera, who last played in Indonesia for Jakarta, is definitely the most decorated import to play in the Philippines, with 13 Most Valuable Player awards and 17 league championships collected in an illustrious two-decade career.

Her scoring prowess will be much needed by Akari, especially as they go up against perennial contenders like Creamline, Cignal, F2 Logistics, Petro Gazz and Choco Mucho, among others.
