Akari Chargers welcome Annie Mitchem as import for PVL Reinforced Conference

The Akari Chargers are set to raise the stakes in the upcoming Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference with the addition of American outside hitter Annie Mitchem as their newest import.

Standing at 6’4”, Mitchem brings height, versatility, and international experience to the Chargers. A product of Irvine Valley College, where she was named AVCA Two-Year College National Player of the Year, and the University of Hawai‘i, she transitioned to the professional stage with success across some of the world’s top leagues. Her club career includes stints in Italy, Turkey, Brazil, and Indonesia, most recently with Jakarta Livin Mandiri.

Beyond her scoring ability, Mitchem is known for her blocking presence and adaptability, having played both as a middle blocker and outside hitter. Her addition is expected to give the Chargers an extra edge on both ends of the floor.

Alongside Mitchem’s arrival, the Chargers will also feature a strong local core highlighted by returnees Fifi Sharma and Justine Jazareno, who are back in Akari colors fresh off their stint with the Alas Pilipinas national team. Setter Mars Alba, also from Alas, will make her debut for the Chargers this conference, adding playmaking depth and stability to the squad.

Mitchem has already begun training with the Chargers in preparation for the Reinforced Conference, where fans can look forward to seeing her in action for the first time in the PVL.
