BAGUIO CITY — University of the Cordilleras and Pudtol Vocational High School continued to be on the road to a rematch of the CARAA finals after disposing of separate foes in the 2018 Akari National High School Northern Luzon leg quarterfinals Sunday here.
The Baby Jaguars destroyed Hope International High School, 30-17, to open the day while Baguio City National High School’s Special Program in Sports team defeated their regular high school counterparts to arrange a Final Four date.
In other quarterfinal pairings, Pudtol overcame a tough challenge early from the University of Luzon to breeze into the next round after a 30-20 triumph.
University of Baguio High School — the tallest team in the tournament — meanwhile completed the semifinals cast after showing no mercy against Benguet’s Sablan National High School with a 30-10 demolition.
PVHS and UBHS take on each other in what is expected to be the most exciting playoff match of the tournament while UCHS and BCNHS, rivals on the court but friends off it, renew their Baguio City rivalry.
