BAGUIO CITY — Who said only tall players make great middle blockers?
Five-foot-three Aice Faith Parrocha proved that wrong after being named MVP of the 2018 Akari National High School Volleyball Championships Northern Luzon leg here.
Parrocha bested more than 200 players who participated in the regional finals, and led the Baby Jaguars to the championship by scoring the final two points in the fifth set.
Joining Parrocha, who was also named 2nd Best Middle Blocker, in the Akari Saksakan ng Galing Mythical Team are teammates Jingle Egid (Best Libero) and 1st Best Middle Blocker Rosemar Borlongan.
Pudtol Vocational High School captain Ricka Mae Ulidan, who missed the first and fifth sets of the championship match due to overfatigue, was named Best Opposite Spiker while teammate lefty Fevie Ilustrado was named 1st Best Outside Hitter.
Baguio City National High School’s Rechalyn Gonzales (Best Setter) and Blesie Royo (2nd Best Outside Hitter) of the University of Baguio High School round up the awardees.
