Lady Falcons continue freefall after Creamline drubbing

Akari-Adamson continued its slide in the PVL Open Conference, losing its fourth straight game Wednesday night at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Lady Falcons bowed to powerhouse Creamline, 16-25, 9-25, 20-25, as they remained one of only two winless squads in the eight-team field.

Cool Smashers superstar Alyssa Valdez pummelled Akari-Adamson’s porous defense with 22 points off 15 hits, four aces and three blocks while former Queen Falcon Jema Galanza added 11.

Creamline got off to a quick start in the first two sets, as Akari-Adamson was unable to mount a serious challenge without top gun Eli Soyud.

Bern Flora and Chiara Permentilla were disasters on offense and combined for just seven points as the Lady Falcons connected on a measly 19 of their 125 spike attempts (15.2%).

On the other hand, the Cool Smashers had 44 kills on a 35.2% efficiency.

Rookie Krich Macaslang top scored for Akari-Adamson with seven points off five kills and two blocks.
