Trisha Genesis’ ascent was stopped before it even began.
Given the starting nod, Akari-Adamson’s ace rookie was excited to deliver for the Lady Falcons in their game against BanKo Perlas Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Alas, a breakout wasn’t meant to be, as Genesis injured her ankle in the second frame of Akari-Adamson’s four-set loss to the Spikers, their third straight in the PVL Open Conference.
According to the Laguna native, she fell on Amanda Villanueva’s foot while going down, spraining her right ankle and keeping her out for the rest of the match.
Genesis said recovery is pegged at 1-2 weeks and she hopes to be back soon as the Lady Falcons hope to make an impact in the season-ending conference.
Akari-Adamson has four matches scheduled in the next two weeks, including games against Creamline, Petrogazz, Ateneo and Iriga.
The Lady Falcons are still without injured veterans and starters Eli Soyud and Lea Perez.
