Flora explodes, but Lady Falcons still winless

Bern Flora finally had the breakout game everyone was waiting for.

Unfortunately for Akari-Adamson, nobody else rose to the challenge on offense.

Flora delivered a dazzling triple-double performance but the Lady Falcons had no answer for Dzi Gervacio as BanKo Perlas ran away with a four-set win in the PVL Open Conference Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The PVL Collegiate Conference Best Outside Spiker had 20 points built on 19 hits and a block while also adding 14 digs and 13 excellent receptions in the Spikers’ 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 25-16 triumph.

However, no other Lady Falcon finished in double figures as Chiara Permentilla saw her streak come to a halt with eight markers.

Thang Ponce held the fort on defense with 17 digs and 23 excellent receptions on 63.9% accuracy.

Nobody shone brighter, though, than Gervacio.

The ex-Ateneo standout had 24 points, connecting on 23 kills with an impressive 45.1% spiking mark.

Former Adamson stalwart Amanda Villanueva also had a stellar performance with 14 points and 17 digs.

The loss sent Akari-Adamson to 0-3.
