For his exploits in helping Adamson maintain a perfect 5-0 record in the UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball tournament so far, Sean Manganti was named Player of the Week by the UAAP Press Corps.
The Soaring Falcons defeated both UP and NU this week, with the twin wins coming off grind-out performances that needed Manganti to rise to the occasion.
The high-flying swingman scored the game-winner against the Fighting Maroons, scoring off a broken play with 0.7 seconds remaining to complete Adamson’s fightback from 12 points down in the second half.
Three days after, the Fil-American skipper was the Falcons’ top scorer against the Bulldogs.
Manganti had 14 points, catalyzing a third-quarter run that gave Adamson some breathing room after a tough start. He added three boards, four dimes and two steals.
He bested UE’s Alvin Pasaol, UP’s Bright Akhuetie, and Ateneo’s Angelo Kouame for the weekly award given by print and online media covering the league.
