Flat finish dooms Akari-Adamson in Game 1

A bad start and a worse finish doomed Akari-Adamson in Game 1.

The Soaring Falcons couldn’t buy a basket in the payoff period as they bowed to Che Lu Bar and Grill in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup semifinals Tuesday at the Pasig Sports Center.

Thus, Akari-Adamson is forced into a do-or-die situation when the two teams meet again in Game 2 on Thursday.

With big guns like Jerrick Ahanmisi and Papi Sarr struggling, the Falcons were held to four points in the fourth quarter as the Revellers made their stand.

Akari-Adamson started slow, but recovered in the second period to take a slim 35-34 lead at halftime.

But Che Lu outscored them, 36-25, in the last two frames to complete the upset.

Simon Camacho led the Falcons with 13 points while Sarr had 12.
