Jerie Pingoy breaks through to lead Akari-Adamson to sixth D-League win

Jerie Pingoy just wanted to say hello again.

The wily playmaker brought himself back into the consciousness of the Adamson community after leading Akari-Adamson to a hard-earned 89-79 win over gritty Batangas-EAC in the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.

With the match tied at 78, Pingoy unleashed three straight triples in less than two minutes to push the Soaring Falcons to their sixth win in eight matches.

Pingoy, who missed the early part of Akari-Adamson’s D-League campaign due to bone spurs, led all scorers with a tournament-best 23 points that he laced with four rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

Three other Falcons finished in double figures, with Jerrick Ahanmisi (16 points), Jerom Lastimosa (11) and Papi Sarr (10) delivering solid contributions for coach Franz Pumaren.
