Hot-serving Lady Falcons torch UP for second straight win

It was ace after ace after ace after ace for Adamson on Valentine’s Day.

The Lady Falcons fired an astounding 17 service aces to wallop UP, 25-9, 27-25, 25-20, for their second win in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Starting at her ‘home’ position for the first time, Mylene Paat led the charge for the San Marcelino squad, firing eight aces — six in the first set alone — to finish with a game-high 15 points.

Paat added 10 digs even as three other Adamson players finished in double figures, with Jema Galanza, Joy Dacoron and Chiara Permentilla combining for 35 markers.

The win vaulted the Lady Falcons into the upper half of the standings with a 2-1 record while sending UP down at 1-2. It’s also the first time the school has won back-to-back women’s volleyball matches since Season 78.

Adamson takes on UST next, with the Golden Tigresses tipped to miss the services of injured starters Milena Alessandrini and Rica Rivera.
