Franz Pumaren looking for next Falcons in Cebu tryouts

After barging into the Final Four of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament the past two seasons, Adamson continues to look for talent that will bolster its squad in the upcoming collegiate wars.

Thus, coach Franz Pumaren and assistant coaches Tonichi Yturri and Awoo Lacson are heading to Cebu for a series of tryouts this January.

Pumaren, the architect behind the Soaring Falcons’ quick ascent to the UAAP basketball elite, will be conducting the open sessions on January 9 and 10, 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City.

Tryouts are open for ages 15 to 21, with slots in both the high school and college basketball teams available for those selected.

After missing the Final Four for four consecutive seasons, Adamson returned to the semifinals under Pumaren’s tutelage, but were booted out by La Salle in each of the past two years.

In Season 80, the Falcons finished third behind a total team effort led by Jerrick Ahanmisi, Papi Sarr, Jerie Pingoy and the graduating Rob Manalang.
