Navy edges Adamson-A, Air Force for Akari Cup top seed

In what was a race to the top seed that went down the wire, it was the Philippine Navy who emerged with the #1 ranking entering the Final Four of the 2017 Akari Cup.

The Lady Sailors finished the elimination round tied with Adamson-A and the Philippine Air Force with similar 7-1 records, but nabbed the pole position after scoring the highest quotient.

Thus, Navy will face off with upstart Kings Montessori School (5-3) on Sunday, December 10, for a ticket to the Last Dance.

Meanwhile, the Lady Falcons and the Lady Jet Spikers — who engaged in a tight duel that went four sets — will lock horns for the second finals spot.

Champions of the inaugural Akari Cup will bag Php 25, 000.00 in cash prize. The one-game championship round is also slated on Sunday.

Getting ousted from the competition were Adamson-B (4-4), Enderun (3-5), Rainbow Dreams Cafe (2-6), Army (1-7), and Taguig University (0-7).
