Top teams battle for semis positioning in Akari Cup

Three teams with only one loss apiece take on different foes in the final elimination-round weekend of the 2017 Akari Cup at the St. Vincent Gym in Adamson University.

At the top of the pack with six wins, Philippine Navy (6-1) takes on a Taguig University (0-6) side that did not show up in its last three outings after losing their first three games.

Game time is 2:30pm on Saturday, following the curtain-raiser between Army (1-4) and Air Force (4-1) at 1:00pm.

The Jet Spikers have the most remaining games, as they have to face the Lady Troopers, Adamson-B (4-3) and Enderun (1-6) to strengthen their Final Four bid.

Currently at second, Adamson-A (5-1) battles Rainbow Dreams Cafe (2-3) on Saturday before closing out their preliminaries campaign against upstart Kings Montessori School (4-2) on Sunday.

The top four teams will figure in the semifinals on December 10, with the championship round following in the afternoon.
