Following Coach Franz’ successful rookie year with the Falcons, the team continues its build up heading into UAAP Season 80 set to open in September. For its first international exposure trip, the team is currently in Hong Kong and will be flying to Macau later this week for a series of tune-up matches against top-tier commercial teams.
“When we tapped Coach Pumaren to be at the helm of the Adamson basketball team program, we intended it to be a continuous process. Our ultimate goal for the school remains solid. This trip is only one of Akari’s tools in delivering the best possible training and exposure to the team for us to be able to reach our goal,” Russell Balbacal, the team’s manager and Akari Lighting’s sports director shared.
The young Falcons core remains intact headed by its backcourt duo Jerrick Ahanmisi and Rob Manalang, together with Papi Sarr, Dawn Ochea, Sean Manganti, and Terence Mustre. Prized high school recruit, Jerie Pingoy, is expected to suit up for Adamson after serving the required UAAP residency.
From a dark horse who turned heads by reaching the semis the previous UAAP season, more is expected from the San Marcelino squad this year.
