New starting lineup, same result for Adamson.
The Lady Falcons flashed new starting setter Lynne Matias and middle blocker Zonxi Dahab, but still got walloped by La Salle, 25-12, 25-16, 25-15, in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Matias, who replaced Chumcee Caole in the first group, had 26 excellent sets, but the San Marcelino crew connected on only 14 of 87 spike attempts.
Unlike in their previous match against Ateneo, Adamson was unable to scare the defending champions, as reception and attacking woes hounded them anew.
Jema Galanza led the Lady Falcons with seven points on 25% spiking accuracy, 10 digs and seven excellent receptions.
Meanwhile, Bernadette Flora had four points while Awit Joaquin, Ronjean Momo and Chrislyn Uy added two markers apiece. Dahab and Joy Dacoron, who moved to the bench, were scoreless.
Season 78 Finals MVP Kim Dy top scored for the Lady Spikers with 15 points off 10 hits, three aces and two blocks.
