After solid outing, Awit Joaquin stresses: Laban pa rin, walang bibitaw

Awit Joaquin had the best performance of her young career so far when Adamson bowed to Ateneo in a heartbreaking three-set loss last Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The middle blocker connected on five of her 12 spike attempts while issuing two blocks as the Lady Falcons lost their fourth straight, 19-25, 18-25, 13-25.

Joaquin said she is happy that coach Air Padda has given her the opportunity to start for Adamson after not making it to last year’s lineup.

“Focused lang talaga ako sa game,” she shared. “Kung ano yung natutunan ko sa training, yun yung nilalabas ko sa game. Lagi akong nakikinig sa coaches and seniors namin.”

And as the Lady Falcons try to arrest their losing skid, Joaquin will be needed to deliver from the center.

It’s a challenge she is willing to accept.

“Umpisa pa lang ito,” she stressed. “Mahaba pa yung season. Sana pataas pa rin kami. Laban pa rin, walang bibitaw.”
