Flaunting a theme inspired by the sunny Hawaiian culture, the Adamson Pep Squad shone bright in the 2016 UAAP Cheerdance Competition Saturday afternoon at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The San Marcelino squad backed by Akari Sports garnered a total of 655 points to rank third in the seven-team field — the school’s first podium finish in the last 15 years.
Adamson scored 353 points in the Dance category while tallying 64.5 points, 72.5 points, 80 points and 89 points for Tumbling, Stunts, Tosses and Pyramids, respectively.
The team mentored by newly-minted head coach Jeremy Lorenzo was deducted 4 points for errors.
Precise and technical NU was awesome anew, running away with 711 points behind a futuristic theme that got the crowd on its feet.
Resurgent FEU Cheering Squad, meanwhile, rounded up the top three with 659.5 points.
